JAGUAR – Prices for the XF now start from £29,900 for the 3.0 litre V6 petrol model. The 3.0 litre XF diesel S model now has some features that previously were only available on the XFR model.
LEXUS – Will show the CT 200h at this year’s Geneva Motor Show in early March. The CT 200h is the production version of the concept LF Ch and will be a full hybrid model.
MINI – Has released prices for the new five door, five seat Mini Countryman. Prices will start from £16,000 on the road for a Mini One when it goes on sale on 18th September. A four seat version will be available as a no cost option. The new ALL4 four wheel drive system will be available at a cost of an extra £1,065 on the Cooper D and £1,220 on the Cooper S. Prices are: One diesel £17,000, Cooper £17,510, Cooper D £18,810 and Cooper S £20,810. The Countryman measures 4,097mm in length and will be built at the Magna Steyr plant in Graz, Austria.
PORSCHE – Will unveil the new hybrid 911 GT3 R at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The hybrid will have an electric front axle drive with two electric motors, each developing 60kw. These electric motors supplement the familiar 480hp 4 litre flat six boxer petrol engine.
RENAULT – Has released photographs of the new Megane coupe cabriolet which goes on sale in June. It is being produced alongside the Scenic and Grand Scenic at the Renault plant in Douai, France. The folding metal roof has a glazed area measuring 0.47sq metres and the roof goes up or down in 21 seconds.
VAUXHALL – The all new Meriva will make its world debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. See last week’s Factfile for our views on the new Meriva.
VOLKSWAGEN – Has released photographs of the new Touareg which goes on sale in August. It has received many exterior styling changes and the front end is now reminiscent of the new Golf. It has grown in length by 40mm which means it now measures 4,758mm. The new Touareg is now up to 200kg lighter and up to 20% more fuel efficient. The majority of new Touareg models will have start/stop technology as standard.
