MAZDA – Has announced the introduction of the special edition Tamura model. Based on the TS, it has additional features such as a sports styling kit, 17” alloy wheels, front fog lights and special metallic paint. It will be priced at £14,995 on the road and is expected to go on sale 1st February 2010.
The all new Mazda5 has been unveiled at the Geneva motor show. Engine line-up details released so far indicate that the new models will be available with two petrol engines: a 2.0 litre DISI i-stop and a 1.8 litre. No diesel engine details have yet been released. It is expected to go on sale in Europe later this year.
MINI – A number of changes and enhancements have been announced that are due to take place in spring throughout the Mini ranges. These include: new 1.6 petrol engines on the First and One models, enhanced 1.6 petrol engines on the Cooper and Cooper S, and the introduction of the new One Convertible model (pictured). The Mini One Convertible will be priced at £14,995 on the road.
TOYOTA – Has announced the launch of a new ‘swappage’ scheme, an alternative to the government’s scrappage scheme which is due to close next month. Customers will have the opportunity to trade in any vehicle that is between seven and ten years old (vehicles registered between 1st March 2000 and 28th February 2003), and could save up to £2,000 on the price of a new Yaris, Auris or Avensis. The new scheme is available on new cars ordered up to 31st March and registered up to 31st July this year.
VAUXHALL – Has announced the introduction of the all new 1.3 95ps ecoFLEX diesel models on the Astra five door. Available on S, Exclusiv, SE and SRI trim levels, this engine will have a CO2 emissions figure of 109g/km. Prices will start at £18,525 on the road for the S model and production is expected to commence in April 2010.
Interior photographs of the new Meriva have been released. The interior features a FlexRail facility which provides adaptable storage and a FlexSpace rear seating system which offers a range of seating configurations without having to remove any seats.
