Volkswagen managed to get so many things right when it comes to the Passat CC but they are also some negative aspects. On the plus side it has to be the most stylish four door Saloon available today; it looks superb from every angle, it stands out in a crowd and it is noticed everywhere it goes. The interior quality is as good as the best premium cars on the market as the fit, finish and materials used are of the highest quality.

Mercedes-Benz chose the centre of Spain to launch the latest in a long line of the E Class Saloon. Madrid at this time of year is almost guaranteed to have good weather but the city is easily accessible from most parts of the world and when they are flying in around 100 people per day for nearly four weeks, ease of access is paramount. There are no direct flights from Europe so the only way to get there is via Barcelona or Madrid. Santander is probably more famous for its bank than it being a very nice coastal resort with a large port. The surrounding area is packed with industry; it is a very rich part of Spain and is not dependant on tourism as its main source of income. This area is in the North of Spain which is close to the French border and has scenery more like Austria than Spain. Even the cars we drove were Austrian registered which made it even more confusing with snow on the mountains, chalets with balconies and goats roaming around. We could have been in Bavaria as it was very wet, windy and at times blizzard like.

It is most people’s dream to drive an exotic sports car and an Aston Martin has to be in the top three for desirability. Just the name conjures up such a high image; an Aston is not just a car to drive it is an object of beauty. Everybody knows what an Aston Martin is whether they be young or old or from anywhere in the world. Manufacturers spend millions on brand recognition but Aston do not have to; they are a household name but not every household will have the chance to own one.

The previous Ka made its world debut at the Paris motor show in 1996 and has been on sale for over twelve years with hardly any facelifts or noticeable modifications. It has been a resounding success for Ford with over 1.46 million sold worldwide, with 500,000 of those being sold in the UK.
