CAP appoints Mark Bulmer to key Black Book role of Current Valuation Manager - Cars

MARK BULMER has been appointed by CAP to the post of Current Valuation Manager - Cars, a key role in the Black Book industry benchmark guide to current used car values.

He brings two decades of retail and fleet car sales experience to the position, along with a passion to maintain and build on the industry-leading accuracy of Black Book.

His motor industry career began in 1986 as a trainee salesman in a West Yorkshire Honda dealership, moving on to take a Sales Controller’s position at a nearby Ford dealership. His first taste of the fleet market came after rising to the role of Business Manager for Appleyard Rover in Leeds, when he joined the fleet department - selling 800 units annually for four years as Fleet Sales Manager.

He then took the position of New Vehicle Sales Manager for Bristol Street Motors, running Rover, MG, Proton and LDV franchises before moving to a Peugeot dealership as General Sales Manager.

But it was at JCT 600 Mazda, as General Sales Manager, where he first became aware of the power of CAP, thanks to the business’s sophisticated integration of Black Book values into its processes.

Mark said: “At JCT I realised how far in front CAP is in terms of accuracy and the way they used Black Book in the sales process showed how powerful it could be.

“I have seen at first hand the commercial advantage that customers gain from the use of CAP data and I am delighted to be bringing my experience into the business to help drive the continual improvement of Black Book.”
