ASTON MARTIN – Has announced the introduction of a special edition Carbon Black model to the DBS and V12 Vantage. This special edition features carbon black metallic paint, obsidian black leather interior and piano black interior trim as standard. The V12 Vantage Carbon Black features a carbon fibre side strake, black 10 spoke diamond turned alloy wheels and a 700w premium audio sound system. The DBS Carbon Black features a Bang and Olufsen sound system as standard. First deliveries are expected in March 2010, with prices to be confirmed in the New Year.
AUDI – Has announced that the new A8 will feature a satellite navigation system with built in online capabilities that can search and retrieve internet content via a mobile phone network. Users will be able to use Google to search for points of interest and the system will also feature Google Earth, which has never been available on a production vehicle before.
BENTLEY – Has announced that they are set to launch some one-of-a-kind, Zai for Bentley Supersport skis. The skis are handmade in Switzerland and are partly made from Zaiira, which is a novel composite material containing carbon fibres, specially developed by Zai in co-operation with a partner company. There will be a limited number of 250 available and the price tag for the skis (including poles and ski bag) is £5,900.
HYUNDAI – Are set to introduce a new special edition model to the i10, i20 and i30 ranges. Badged as the ‘Edition’, it will be available on the i10 with a 1.1 litre 66bhp engine and on the i20 with a 1.2 litre 77bhp engine. On the i30 there will be a choice of three engines: a 1.4 litre 108bhp petrol, a 1.6 litre 124bhp petrol and a 1.6 CRDI 113bhp diesel. The i10 Edition will be priced at £8,425 on the road, the i20 will start at £10,565 on the road and the i30 will start at £13,400 on the road. The Edition models are expected to arrive in showrooms in January 2010.
KIA – Has announced the introduction of a new special edition model to the Cee’d and Pro Cee’d ranges called ‘Strike’. The Strike features 16” alloys wheels, air conditioning, Bluetooth/ipod connectivity and electric front windows as standard. The Cee’d Strike will be priced from £10,995 on the road and the Pro Cee’d Strike starts from £10,695 on the road. The Strike special edition will be launched on 1st January 2010.
VOLVO – Will present the next generation battery electric C30 at the Detroit Motor Show next month. Volvo intend to develop and build a series of test cars to be used on a two year trial period starting in 2011 in order to gain more technical and behavioural experience. The Swedish Energy Agency will contribute SEK 150 million towards funding for the project.
