BMW – Has announced their most fuel efficient and greenest 3 Series model ever. The new 320d efficient dynamics (320d ED) is powered by a 2.0 litre diesel engine that produces 163hp, goes from 0-62mph in 8.2 seconds and has CO2 emissions of 109g/km. The combined fuel consumption figure is 68.9 mpg. The 320d ED will go on sale in January 2010 and has similar specification to the 320d SE. VED will cost £35 per year.
 
CITROEN – The DS3 will be unveiled at this year’s Frankfurt motor show next month. The DS3 will be the first model in Citroen’s new DS line. DS3 will arrive in the UK in spring 2010. Prices and specification will be announced nearer its on sale date.  
 
HYUNDAI – Has released pictures of their new C segment crossover, the ix35, ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September. 
  

 

 

 

PEUGEOT – Has confirmed that the RCZ coupe will go on sale in spring 2010. This compact 2+2 coupe will feature a ‘double bubble’ roof. The engines available at launch will be: a 1.6 litre THP 156bhp petrol, a 1.6 litre THP 200bhp petrol and a 2.0 HDI 163bhp diesel. The RCZ will be built at the Magna Steyr plant in Graz, Austria and will be the first Peugeot car not to feature the traditional ‘0’ or ‘00’ numbering system.

PORSCHE – Has announced details of the next generation 911 GT3 RS. It offers increased power, lower weight, shorter transmission ratios and a chassis optimised to a higher standard. The new GT3 RS develops 450bhp which is 35bhp more than the previous model. The price of the new 911 is £100,760, with first deliveries due in February 2010.
 
SEAT – Will show the new Leon Cupra R at the Frankfurt motor next month. The Cupra R is powered by a 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engine that produces 265ps, goes from 0-62mph in 6.1 seconds and is expected to have a combined fuel consumption figure of 35 mpg. It will have 19”, 5 spoke alloy wheels. Prices and specification will be announced nearer its on sale date.
 
SKODA – The new Superb estate will make its debut at this years Frankfurt motor show on 15th September. No on sale date in the UK has been announced yet.
 
MASERATI – The GranCabrio will make its world debut at this year’s Frankfurt motor show. The GranCabrio is the company’s first four seat convertible model. It is powered by a 4.7 litre V8 323kw petrol engine.
  

 

 

VAUXHALL – Has confirmed that the all new Astra will make its debut at this years Frankfurt motor show. The new Astra is expected to go on sale later this year but GM has said that the ecoFLEX Astra will join the range at a later stage and will have CO2 emissions of 109g/km.

VOLKSWAGEN – The three door version of the all new Polo will make its debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September. There will be four models available when it goes on sale later this year: S, SE, Moda and SEL. Prices are expected to start from £9,400.
  

 

VOLVO – Has announced that the XC-60 R-Design will go into production from November 2009. It will have sporty visual features with a distinctive style and a specially tuned chassis for dynamic handling. Prices will be confirmed nearer its on sale date.
