BENTLEY – Will show the all new Mulsanne in California this week. It will then have its European debut at the Frankfurt motor show on 15th September. The new Mulsanne is expected go on sale in mid 2010.
BMW – Has announced that a new model is to be introduced into the 7 Series range. The 740d is powered by a 3.0 litre twin turbocharged diesel engine that produces 306hp, goes from 0-62mph in 6.3 seconds and has a CO2 emission figure of 181 g/km. It will only be available in standard wheelbase and will be priced from £60,265.
HYUNDAI – Has confirmed their new cross over vehicle that will compete mainly with C sector cars will be called the IX35.
KIA – The all new B sector car that goes on sale in the UK in early 2010 will be called the Kia Venga. Its wheelbase length is 2,615mm and will be available with the following engines: 1.4 litre petrol, 1.6 litre petrol and 1.6 litre diesel with power outputs ranging from 75ps to 115ps.
LEXUS – Will reveal its premium compact concept car at the Frankfurt motor show next month.
MERCEDES-BENZ – The B Class F-CELL, which is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, has finished its prototype stage of development and has gone into small scale production. Around 180 units will be built and be used by opinion formers in North America and Germany.
MITSUBISHI – Has added an entry level model into the Lancer range. The Lancer 1.5 four door SE is priced at £12,499.
SAAB – General Motors and Koenigsegg Group have signed a stock purchase agreement for the sale of Saab Automobile AB. The deal is expected to be closed by the end of this year. As part of the transaction, GM and Saab will continue to share technology and services during a defined time period.
SPYKER – Will show the new C8 Aileron Spyder at the Pebble Beach show in California this week. The Spyder is powered by an aluminium V8 petrol engine that produces 400bhp and goes from 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds.
SUZUKI – Has just sold its 40 millionth vehicle since it first went into automobile production in October 1955. Suzuki started trading in 1905 as the Suzuki Loom Company.
VAUXHALL – Are offering owners of the three door Corsa the chance to purchase racing stripes for £150, fully fitted, including VAT, by local dealers. The stripes are available in black, silver or white.
VOLKSWAGEN – The existing 2.0 TDI 110ps diesel engine in the Passat BlueMotion is being replaced by the new 1.6 TDI 105ps engine. CO2 emissions have been reduced by 8% to 118g/km for the saloon and 119g/km for the estate.
