I am a governor at the local first school in Highburton, Huddersfield and we are encouraged by the head teacher and the government to take a more active role in school. This means more visits to help with lessons so that we understand what is going on in school and how the children coping and learning.
As an experiment I took in the Audi A5 Cabriolet this week to show class 5 (aged 10 years) and asked them to write about it. I showed them around the car in the playground, gave them some advice along with some product knowledge and then left them with their notes to compile an accurate description of the A5 on the school computers. All the children did exceptionally well but here are the two examples that I thought were the most descriptive and very impressive. The first is written by Abigail Smith aged 10 and Olivia Lane aged 10. The second is written by Thomas Vegaris aged 10 and Owen Illingworth aged 10.

Audi A5 Cabriolet 2.0 TFSI
The A5 was tested in our school playground on a warm and humid day. Our playground is surrounded by many lush fields with open country roads leading towards Emley Moor Mast in the distance, a perfect setting to enjoy the eye catching Audi A5. Since its launch in May 2009 it is certain to turn many heads.
The Audi A5 is a slick and comfortable sports car, with a swathe line that runs all the way round the car making it look handsomely muscular. The shut line is so accurate against the swathe line it clearly shows the quality of the manufacturing. The swathe line is accurately fitted around the 18” alloy wheels. The A5 has a honeycomb grille at the front, making it look low and sporty. We think this feature works extremely well. The LED lights are daytime as well as all night, telling passing cars there is an Audi ahead. At the rear the A5 benefits from a large, masculine-looking diffuser. The 2.0 TFSI engine creates 159g/km CO2 emissions, which is significantly less than its main competitors and its class. It does 0-100 kph in 7.5 seconds, which is reasonably fast, however it is beaten by the BMW 325i convertible and the Mercedes-Benz CLK 200K cabriolet. The engine has 211 ps, with a top speed of 150 mph and can do 42 mpg.
The boot is long, low and wide, but it can be adjusted by folding the back seats down making it extend. The subtle rear boot spoiler is small and low with a sharp curve creating a dramatic affect on the appearance of the car. The rear lighting is underneath the spoiler due to the soft top.
The Audi badge has a history behind it. To start with there were four car companies in Germany that were losing money. So they decided to join together creating Audi. Each circle on the badge represents one of the four motor companies.
The interior is equally a significant triumph. The four seats are real leather but are still firm and comfortable. The rear seats are comfortable for 0-15 year olds but are a bit uncomfortable for adults so we recommend that adults sit in the front for a comfortable ride. The features of this car include: Sat Nav, built in Bluetooth, radio and climate control. The sounds of the controls are soft and quiet. The feel of the controls soft and have a good grip.
The roof is well padded and is thick and firm, but light. It takes 18 seconds to come up and 13 seconds to come down.
This Audi A5 is available in many colours and the price is of this model is £34,095.
In our opinion and that of Audi is that the new A5 TFSI defines itself as a ‘sporting and progressing’ cabriolet.

Audi A5 Cabriolet 2.0 TFSI
We first saw the Audi A5 Cabriolet in the playground. It was a reasonably warm day, but there were dark clouds looming. The car looked like a Puma ready to pounce. It looks very feline and sharp. The Audi has a cloth roof which can go into the boot of the car, the cloth roof is very strong. On the front it has two LED lights which you can spot from a distance. You can tell immediately that it’s an Audi. Underneath the grille there are two smaller spotlights.
On the side of the Audi there is a swathe line. It starts at the rear break light, goes to the door and then dips slightly and then picks back up and finishes at the headlights. The wheels are 18” with chrome alloys. On the rear of the car there is a small spoiler and two medium sized exhaust pipes. Above these there is a diffuser with a honeycomb pattern on. Then there is a very small boot. Above the boot there are three red brake lights which shine brightly.
The roof can go up or down. It takes thirteen seconds to go down and it takes eighteen seconds to go up. The roof is very thick and weather resistant. The engine power is 211 PS. 0 to 62 miles per hour in exactly 7.5 seconds. Its maximum speed is 150 miles per hour. The competitors of the Audi A5 are the BMW 3-series and the Mercedes Benz CLK.
The interior of the car is very comfortable. In the front of the car there are two black leather seats which can move backwards and forwards. There is climate control for the driver and passenger seat. There is a built in blue tooth device which allows you to connect your phone to the car. It also has a sat nav which is built in to the car and you can operate it via the dashboard. It has a normal long wave radio.
The A5 has good space for two people in the front of the car. It is a bit tight for two adults in the back, but it is comfortable for two children in the back. The speakers in the Audi are very good. The seatbelts in the Audi are automatic when you get in the car they come out on a holder so you can strap yourself in easily. The seatbelts are friction resistant so if you break sharply you will immediately stop. In the back of the car there are two metal posts that will shoot out if you roll over in your car. The price of this car is £34,095.
