ALFA ROMEO – Has announced details of the 159 Series 2. The choice of engines increases from five to seven; this includes a new 1.8 litre turbo petrol engine that produces 200bhp, a new 2.0 litre diesel engine that develops 170bhp and a new 1.9JTDm ECO diesel engine that produces 120hp (it has Co2 emissions of 138g/km). Trim levels go from three models to five: Turismo, Turismo Sport, Elegante, Lusso and TI. Prices range from £19,950 to £27,800.
AUDI – Has released details of the new A5 Sportback, the third member of the A5 family. The A5 Sportback is a five door, four seat Coupe that will arrive in UK dealer showrooms in October. Prices start from £27,140 for the 2.0 TDI SE.
AUTOVAZ – Russia’s largest car maker has said it is not considering any partnership with Germany’s Opel or Canadian owned Magna.
BMW – Has confirmed the introduction of the 318d engine with a Co2 emissions figure of 118g/km. Further details will be announced in due course.
SKODA – Has announced prices for the new Fabia Scout. It is based on the Fabia 2 but has additional features which include protective door mouldings, rear protective under body styling, 16”‘Scout’ alloy wheels, silver roof rails, ESP inc ABS, MSR, ASR, cruise control, alloy pedals and front arm rests. The 1.4 85hp petrol is priced at £12,815, the 1.4 TDI 80hp diesel at £13,695 and the 1.9 TDI 105hp diesel at £14,380. First deliveries are due 1st August.
SMART – Daimler AG has confirmed the Smart Electric Drive will go into small series production with the first cars coming to the UK in early 2010. There have been 100 test vehicles here since December 2007, with cars costing £375pm to lease.
TOYOTA – Has announced prices for the latest addition to the IQ range, the IQ 3. The IQ 3 features16” dual 5 spoke alloy wheels and chrome mirror housings. The manual version costs £11,495 and the multidrive CVT transmission model is priced at £12,495.
VOLKSWAGEN – Arctic blue silver metallic paint is no longer available to order on Passat Saloon and Estate.
