BMW – Has announced the introduction of the new 5 Series Gran Turismo model. It will be available in two trim levels: SE (which will have five seats) and Executive (which will have four seats) with prices starting at £40,810 on the road for the 530d SE. The 5 Series Gran Turismo is expected to be launched on 24th October 2009, following its world premiere at the Frankfurt motor show in September 2009.
CITROEN – Has appointed Gary Savage as its new managing director in the UK. Mr Savage was formally at Audi UK, as head of sales and marketing.
MITSUBISHI – Has announced it will start selling its fastest ever Lancer Evolution in June. The FQ-400 produces 403hp, goes from 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds and has a limited top speed of 155mph. It is priced at £49,999.
SAAB – Has announced that a production break is due to take place on the 9-3 Convertible. Production will be temporarily halted for approximately six months from mid July to the end of 2009.
VAUXHALL – Details on the new Insignia VXR Sports Tourer have been announced. It produces 325 bhp and Vauxhall say it is the fastest ever Vauxhall Estate model, with a 0-60 time of 6 seconds and a limited top speed of 155mph. Prices are expected to be announced early this summer.
VOLKSWAGEN – Has announced details on the new Golf Estate model. It will be available in S, SE and Sportline trim levels with the following engine choices: 1.4 litre 122ps petrol, 1.6 litre TDI common rail 105ps diesel and 2.0 litre TDI 140ps diesel. A Bluemotion version will also be available on the Golf Estate. Orders are expected to be taken in October 2009, with first deliveries expected in early 2010.
