CADILLAC – Has launched its most powerful car ever. The CTS-V is powered by a 6.2 litre V8 engine that produces 564ps and goes from 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds. It will be available in left-hand drive only and is priced from £56,495.
FIAT – There is a rumour that the new 500 Cabriolet could possibly be on sale in the UK as early as mid 2009.
FIAT GROUP, CHRYSLER AND CERBERUS – Have signed a non-binding term sheet to establish a global strategic alliance with a key element to provide Chrysler with access to competitive, fuel efficient vehicle platforms, power trains and components. It will also enable Fiat and Chrysler to take advantage of each others distribution networks.
KIA – Has confirmed full scale production of the Ceed model with ISG (idle stop and go), delivering up to 15% savings in fuel consumption. Left hand drive vehicles will be available in Europe in the middle of the year but right hand drive vehicles with ISG will not be produced until late 2009.
MINI – Will unveil the Mini One Clubman at this years Geneva motor show in early March and it will go on sale in the UK on 28th March priced from £13,290. All Mini models now have air conditioning as standard.
PEUGEOT – Has confirmed the concept car that was named Prologue Hybrid 4 will go into production and will be called the 3008. It will be the group’s first Hybrid vehicle and it will go on sale in the UK in late 2009.
LEXUS – The revised IS 220d will be available from mid March with lower Co2 emissions and improved fuel consumption. The emissions are reduced from 163g/km to 148g/km.
SUZUKI – Has extended its 0% APR offer on some of its models until 31st March 2009.
